The best time to work on a marriage is before it starts. Premarital counseling gives the two of you 8 unhurried hours with a pastor to talk through the things couples usually fight about later, while it is still easy to talk about them.

Pastor Brandon has been married since 2011. He will be honest with you, he will open the Bible with you, and he will shape the sessions around the two of you rather than a script.

Florida’s marriage license and the premarital course

Florida does not require premarital counseling. But couples who finish a registered premarital preparation course of at least four hours, within a year before they apply, pay a smaller marriage license fee, and the three-day waiting period is waived. Citrus County couples apply at the Clerk of Court in Inverness.

Ask Pastor Brandon about the course certificate at your free consultation.

Marrying again

Not every engaged couple is young. If one or both of you has been married before, there are grown children, or you are joining two households later in life, premarital counseling matters just as much. Those conversations are part of it.
